NBA Live Streaming TV
What is the NBA?
NBA Live Streaming – NBA is the National Basketball Association, an American men’s professional basketball league, and the first of its kind. The existing commissioner of the league is Adams Silver.
The NBA has been recognized as the first men’s professional and most profitable basketball league in America and all around the globe. The NBA is considered the most successful in America’s history because it brought national and international recognition and interest to the game of basketball.
The league, an active member of the USA Basketball Association(USAB) and recognized by the FIBA, is the third wealthiest in after the NFL and MLB in revenue.
As of 2015, the NBA players were the world’s best-paid athletes.
Formerly known as the Basketball Association of America (BAA), the NBA was established on June 6, 1946, in New York. It later came to be known as the National Basketball Association after it was merged with the NBL ( National Basketball Association).
The league comprises of 30 teams, 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada, with the top-ranking units at the end of each season, engaging in a playoff to determine who claims the NBA champion title.
No doubt, the league has evolved over the years and has recorded significant growth and success. The NBA has gone from being a struggling company plagued with low-level franchises, declining television ratings, low attendance, limited national appeal to becoming an international entertainment company with an aggressive marketing, a lucrative broadcast for network and cable television.
The league has produced and revealed some of the world’s best, the likes of Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, and Kobe Bryant, just to mention a few.
The NBA regular season runs from October to April, with each team playing 82 games.
The league’s playoffs tournament extends into June.
The 2019-2020 season, which began ten months ago, has finally reached the playoffs. The season was suspended indefinitely on March 11, 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and also after Utah Jazz Center, Rudy Gobert tested positive to the virus.
On June 4, 2020, the league returned in a 22- team format with seeding games per team and a regular playoff format.
The games will begin on Monday, August 17, in the afternoon, and will be played in a “bubble” in Walt Disney World, with no fans present. The top eight teams in each conference will perform the best of the seven-series, and the winners of each conference will meet in the finals.
The NBA also holds games on Christmas day. This has been an annual tradition for the NBA since the league’s second season in 1947.
Currently, the league plays five games on Christmas days. There are, however, no fixed opponents and the league only features its best players and teams. Other times, the NBA only showcases the previous season’s finals.
Like any other body, the NBA has had its own fair share of scandals and criticism.
